Dysport hero image

Dysport is the leading European toxin used to drastically reduce the appearance and occurrence of frown lines, wrinkles and fine lines primarily in the brow and eye area.

About Dysport: While emotions like happiness, sadness and fear are important to feel and express, wearing the lines and wrinkles from smiling or frowning is less desirable. Most people develop frown lines as they age, for some people frown lines are more prominent and detract from the overall appearance of their face. Frown lines can also age you making you appear older than you are. As an injectable dermal filler, Dysport does wonders to erase frown lines and renew your face.

Regular injections can slow down the visible aging process by helping reduce the function and appearance of dynamic wrinkles. You can project a more youthful image with Dysport treatments that smoothen:

  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Smoker Lines
  • Lip augmentation
  • Crows Feet
  • Excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) & Migraines
  • Downturned Mouths
  • Worry lines
  • Droopy Jowls
  • Neck Lines & Bands
  • Migraines
  • Frown lines

The Science of Frown Lines

The technical name for the wrinkles that are commonly referred to as “frown lines” is Glabellar lines. This term refers to wrinkles that appear between a person’s eyebrows. Although these vertical wrinkles are most commonly caused by aging and the contortion of the face when making facial expressions, there are number of factors that can contribute to the appearance of Glabellar lines. These factors include:

Smoking

Smoking increases the likelihood of developing frown lines at an early age and can worsen existing frown lines. Smoking reduces the amount of natural collagen your body is able to produce, and collagen keeps the skin firm and youthful.

Prolonged Sun Exposure

While smoking prevents your body from making enough new collagen, too much UV light can damage the collagen that is already present in your delicate skin. Damaged collagen also reduces the amount and quality of new collagen that is produced, it also makes dark spots and sun damage more apparent.

Do not use Dysport if:

  • If you have an allergy or sensitivity to any of the ingredients.
  • If you are allergic to the protein in cow’s milk.
  • If you have an active infection in the muscles or treatment area.
  • If you have any type of muscle disorder including: Myasthenia Gravis, Eaton Lambert Syndrome or Amyotrophic Sclerosis.
  • If you are pregnant and/or breastfeeding
  • If you are a taking a antibiotic

FAQ

How Quickly Will I See Results?

Dysport treatments are typically done in one session lasting 10 to 20 minutes. The duration of time between treatment and results varies depending on the patient and treatment area. However, in general patients can expect to see results 24-72 hours after treatment. Patients can expect to enjoy their smoother, wrinkle-free brow or eye area for as much as 9-12 months. Then simply schedule an appointment for another treatment at New You Spa.

How Will Dysport Change my Appearance?

After one administration of Dysport your frown lines will be smoothed and new lines will be prevented. Dysport is a temporary targeted treatment, meaning while it does prevent muscle movement in the injection area, it does not limit or reduce muscle movement anywhere else. So there is no need to worry about looking frozen or fake.

Is Dysport Affordable?

Yes. Compared to other Anti-Aging procedures Dysport is a very affordable option. For people with very few fine lines wishing for a proactive tool Dysport is excellent, it is extremely affordable and quick, resulting in no-downtime and fewer treatments.

What Should I Expect When I Get a Dysport Treatment?

During your consultation your New You Dysport technician will assess your skin, and your history to make a customized treatment plan for your face. During your treatment a topical anesthetic may be applied to treatment area to reduce any discomfort for the very small injection needles. Most patients do not report any pain or discomfort. After a brief 10-20 mins the treatment is complete and the patient can about their day with no recovery time required. While patients may get frequent Dysport injections it is recommended to not exceed one treatment every 90 days.

What are the Most Common Side Effects?

Dysport may cause some minor side effects depending on the patient and their medical history. Side effects may include: Mild swelling, bruising, redness, or tenderness in the treatment area. Some patients also reported minor headaches and pain at the injection site, sore throat, upper respiratory infection, and sinus infection. Patients should avoid lying down or rubbing the treatment area for at least 12 hours, as this can cause migration of the solution outside the treatment area.

How can I Maintain the Results?

Dysport is fantastic at reducing the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines and smoothing the skin. However, it is a temporary dermal filler and will eventually be absorbed by the body. As your body begins the absorption process you may see the results begin to weaken, this is a great time to schedule a follow-up appointment at New You to discuss further treatments or more permanent options.

Is Dysport Safe?

Dysport was formulated more than 15 years ago in an advanced clinical setting. This amazing wrinkle eraser is currently approved for use in 23 different countries around the globe for the targeted treatment of Glabellar lines, crow’s feet, wrinkles in the neckline and eye area.
