Injectables in Woodbridge

An injectable is administered into the skin or underlying tissues for cosmetic enhancement. Injectables can either be categorized as dermal fillers or neuromodulators– each equipped with benefits that can help resolve varying aesthetic issues. Dermal fillers work to stimulate collagen synthesis and provide a plumping effect within the dermis, the layer responsible for creating a supportive and youthful structure for the skin. Neuromodulators, on the other hand, work within the facial muscle and relax the overlying skin.

Dermal Fillers We Offer

Our Woodbrige location is equipped with advanced fillers that work in tandem with your natural skin biology, not against it. Our professionals have vast experience with each of our options and understand the intricate differences that make them unique. Your injector will advise you on which one may help you accomplish your skincare goals.

Hyaluronic Acid Fillers

Hyaluronic acid (HA) is already naturally produced in the skin and other parts of the body such as the eyes and joints, providing moisture and lubrication for smooth movement. (1)  Once the compound is injected into the skin, it provides an immediate volumizing effect by attracting and binding water molecules to itself. New You offers several HA-based fillers, each compatible with different skin thicknesses and used in different areas of the face and body. Depending on the filler and your skin’s physiology and metabolism, these fillers last roughly 4 months to about 1 year:

What Are Biostimulatory Fillers?

Biostimulatory fillers are different because they don’t provide immediate results, but they begin to work as collagen renewal begins to take effect over several weeks. The skin also metabolizes these fillers slightly differently. As the microsphere molecules of biostimulatory fillers enter the dermis, the skin begins a rejuvenation process in which it increases the number of fibroblast cells, the cells that form collagen and elastin fibres necessary for taut, youthful skin. When you schedule a consultation with one of our injectors, they will explain, in-depth, the important distinctions between each biostimulatory filler:

What is Dysport?

Dysport is a neuromodulator made of the same components of Botox: botulinum toxin, a protein derived from the Clostridium botulinum bacteria. Injectors utilize very small amounts of botulinum toxin to block the muscular receptors of acetylcholine, a chemical that transmits the signal for muscular contractions to occur. Injectors and researchers have studied botulinum toxin for its uses in relieving muscle spasms, chronic migraines, and even bladder dysfunctions. (3) When applied to certain facial muscles, Dysport can provide a subtle lifting and relaxing effect on the skin, eliminating wrinkles that develop from facial movement. Unlike dermal fillers, neuromodulators can’t provide volume to sagging facial features and areas of tissue atrophy from aging. In 2018, Dysport gained Health Canada approval for aesthetic use, so it has gone through all of the rigorous evaluations required for safe usage.
